Why you need to hire a photographer today, for your event.

Finding and hiring a photographer can be a big hassle today. Not hiring one can be a disaster, you do not want to deal with. Worst yet is allowing a friend or family member with a camera to take your photos. Events are special moments in time and if you even thought about hiring and paying someone to handle your photography you should hire a professional photographer. Great photography is not by accident, it is by years of learning and years of experience. We handle photos on a daily basis and we invest in making sure our equipment is current and kept clean and ready for use at a moments notice with no excuses.

Event photography is one of the hardest things to master because you need to be skilled enough to handle all kinds of different lighting situations with ease. That can mean anything, from incorporating lighting, using the right lens or simply being in the right place at the right time to get the photo, It took me years to understand it and years to incorporate it smoothly to really feel comfortable handling someone’s special event. I never would take a clients event lightly. I understand that people there, may never be seen again and I take that seriously because I have been in the same situation before,

Here is a photo of me and my family having a great time at a Quince in San Antonio. Right in the center is my beautiful sister Anita in the black dress. We lost her just three weeks later to cancer. This is the last photo I have of her and all our family together. We were all optimistic that she had cancer beat, but it turned out she was at the end. Time waits for no one, and our time is limited. I don’t mean to get emotional but I just want to hammer home the point. If this picture was not captured correctly I would be kicking myself in the gut asking why I didn't hire a professional. Bad photography is a problem in our industry but I don’t want it to happen to you. This is the biggest reason I don’t suggest letting family members shot your important events because it puts a great amount of pressure on them to perform, when they don’t do it on a regular basis.

In closing, choose a photographer you know will deliver the good photos and know they are heavily invested in doing so. Good gear is not cheap and cheap photographers don’t use good gear. Experience is also key to hiring a good professional photographer. An experience photographer is always be happy to share previously covered events and will have many examples of his or her work. Take the time to do your research and don’t hire the first person with a camera.
