Can photo editing software really make my photos better?
Here is a question older than photography itself, just kidding. Well at least since the digital age of photography, like the early 1990’s. Let’s face it people, our photos are rarely, if ever perfect. There are just too many factors that go into making the perfect image and you have very limited control over it all. You can have the best camera, the best lens, the best lighting and so on, Then comes the perfect photo opportunity when all of a sudden out of no where, a bird photo bombs or the wind suddenly blows hard or a cloud rolls in giving you some unwanted shade. We have all been there at some point and there is nothing you can do onsite to remedy the problem, it happens. Not to mention the fact that you can have exposure issues that can sometimes get in the way of a perfect images as well.
So, here we are at home with our most recent photos for our clients or for fun and they still seem to be lacking a little something to make them great in our eyes. That is were photo editing software comes into play. I do want to be very clear that, editing software itself can not fix everything, like bad composition, bad posing or even out of focus photos. With that said, you can get a lot done with modern photo editing software like Luminar AI which is starting to become my favorite software because it has so much to offer. With it’s latest update it brings in Portrait Bokeh. This new update is worth the price of the program in full, which is $99 .99 . It has always been a great program since the beginning but now it is with out a question a great program for the new photographer.
What makes Luminar AI great you may ask? Well for beginners it is inexpensive compared to the competition by a long shot and its feature set is quite similar in many regards. The best part yet is the fact that many of the feature sets are Automatic, YES! fully automatic, thus the AI in the name which stands for Artificial Intelligence. Now I know what your thinking how smart can it be? I asked the same question myself and after some real world testing I found it to be really smart. Is it perfect? no but it is really close and I would say it worked perfectly 90% of the time. That is frankly amazing if you ask me given the price alone. The learning curve for this software is low arching as well and any new photo editors I feel would be comfortable after just a few edits,
All in all I would highly recommend Luminar AI to all photographers old and new. I myself have been using it more and more over the past month and have been pleased with the results I am getting and my clients are too. If you decided to give it a try, please use one of our links in this article as it helps support me and my family by paying me a slight commission without you paying any more for all of Luminar AI goodness.
